CONCEPT PROJECTConcept project: self-initiated, not a client commission.

The brief

Routeline is an imagined fleet-tracking tool for small haulage firms. Dispatchers watch dozens of vehicles at once, and a missed late delivery costs real money. The brief we set: keep the density a dispatcher needs and remove the noise.

This is the analytical end of what we do: a time-boxed sprint with a clear start and a clear end.

This brief is invented. The decisions are real, and so are the files.

The approach

Rank what needs a human.

A vehicle on time is quiet. A vehicle at risk moves to the top with the reason beside it. The screen is sorted by what needs action, not by vehicle number.

Colour means one thing.

Red appears only for a delivery that will be late. Status is never carried by colour alone: every state has a label and a shape.

FIG · Routeline, status legend and table components

Documented for developers.

Spacing, type, table rows, filters and alerts are specified as components with states, so the team builds from a system and not from screenshots.

What we made

  • Dispatcher dashboard, map and list views
  • Alert and exception patterns
  • Table and filter components
  • Design system file with tokens and states
  • Handoff notes for developers
