PROCESS
Four stages, week by week. You always know what happens next.
Every project runs through Discover, Define, Design and Deliver. The weeks below are for a 4 to 5 week project such as Identity System. Shorter packages compress the stages; longer ones stretch Design.
DISCOVER · DEFINE · DESIGN · DELIVER
PROCESS
The four stages
- 01
Discover
Week 1
- What we do
- We read your brief, look at what you have and what your competitors show, and ask the questions that change the work.
- You receive
- A one-page brief we both sign off. It states the goal, the audience, what is included and the dates.
- What we need from you
- Your existing files and links, an hour on a call, and one person who makes decisions.
- 02
Define
Weeks 1–2
- What we do
- We turn the brief into a direction: a moodboard, a structure or a few rough routes, depending on the service.
- You receive
- A direction document or rough routes, in black and white or low fidelity, so you react to ideas and not to polish.
- What we need from you
- A decision on direction within three working days, so the schedule holds.
-
FIG · A workshop table: sketches, swatches and notes - 03
Design
Weeks 2–4
- What we do
- The chosen direction becomes real work. You see it in progress and give feedback in set rounds.
- You receive
- Designs on screen or on paper, shared as links or PDFs. Two revision rounds are included.
- What we need from you
- Consolidated feedback from one person, in one message, per round.
- 04
Deliver
Weeks 4–5
- What we do
- We finalise and prepare files for printers, developers or launch, then take you through the handover.
- You receive
- Final files, source files, usage notes and a short handover call. Rights transfer when the last payment clears.
- What we need from you
- Final sign-off and the second half of the payment.
Two revision rounds, defined
A revision round is one set of consolidated feedback and our response to it.
What counts as a round
All the changes you ask for in one message, from one person, on one set of designs. We make them and show you the result.
How to give feedback
Gather your team's comments first. Send one message. Tell us what is wrong and why, and leave the solution to us when you can. If rounds run out, extra work is quoted before we start.
What we work in
- DESIGN
- Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud
- BUILD
- Astro, the framework this site runs on
- SHARING
- Links and PDFs, no logins needed
Questions about the process
Do I need to be available the whole time?
No. Expect a kickoff call, a few short feedback moments and a handover call. Most weeks need under an hour of your time.
What if my feedback changes the direction?
That is normal in the Define stage. After the Design stage starts, big changes of direction use up revision rounds, so we agree the direction first.
Can I see work before the end?
Yes. You see work at the end of Define, during Design and before handover.
Who signs off the brief?
You do, in writing, by email. It is the document we both refer to if scope questions come up.
