CONCEPT PROJECT
Kajszi Distillery
Apricot pálinka distillery · 2026
CONCEPT PROJECTConcept project: self-initiated, not a client commission.
The brief
Kecskemét apricot pálinka is one of Hungary's best-known spirits and one of its most predictably packaged. Kajszi is an imagined family distillery that wants to sell to buyers in Vienna, Munich and online, where a hand-painted fruit and a gothic typeface read as a souvenir.
The brief we set: keep the craft and the apricot, drop the costume. The bottle should look at home on a bar shelf next to a Scandinavian gin.
This brief is invented. The decisions are real, and so are the files.
The approach
One fruit, one shape.
We drew the identity from the apricot's cleft: a single curved line that doubles as the logo's counter. One shape is easy to emboss, print in one colour and read from across a room.
Colour from the orchard, not the flag.
A warm amber and a deep green-black replace red-white-green. The amber shifts slightly by age statement, so a range reads as a family on the shelf.
Labels built for the printer.
Every label was drawn on its dieline, with bleed, a metallic foil layer and overprint set up as separate print-ready layers. Mandatory text sits in a fixed block so legal changes never touch the artwork.
