CONCEPT PROJECT
Lumen Physio
Physiotherapy clinic · 2026
CONCEPT PROJECTConcept project: self-initiated, not a client commission.
The brief
Lumen is an imagined physiotherapy clinic. Its patients arrive anxious, often on a phone, often with an injury that makes typing hard. The brief we set: a site and booking flow that works with one thumb and answers "Will this hurt, and what does it cost?" before anyone has to ask.
We also set ourselves a hard rule: meet WCAG AA contrast and keyboard access from the first sketch, not at the end.
This brief is invented. The decisions are real, and so are the files.
The approach
Fewer steps, larger targets.
Booking is three screens: what hurts, when you can come, who you are. Every tap target is at least 44 pixels, and the form saves progress if the connection drops.
Say the price and the first visit.
The first appointment page states what happens, how long it takes and what it costs. Anxious people decide faster when nothing is hidden.
Quiet colour, clear type.
A pale teal on white with near-black text. Type is large, line length is short, and nothing moves unless you ask it to.
What we made
- Five-page website design
- Booking flow, three screens plus confirmation
- Component set (buttons, fields, calendar, alerts)
- Accessibility notes for the developer
- Responsive layouts at three widths
